The Kite follows the same logic as the X-Wing and the Skyscraper. It is regarded as a difficult higher method.

We're looking for one row and one column that contain the same candidates exactly twice. Now imagine two lines that connect the two occurences. That gives you a horizontal and a vertical line - the two strings of a Kite. Both lines must have one end point in the same block and the other endpoint outside of this block. To illustrate, the block is the Kite and lines are the strings with which it is controlled.
The lines must each have an end point in the same block, but it is important that they do not end in the same field!
For the elimination instructions, the definintion of the term needs to be refined. End point means the end of the line which is within the block. The other end (the outside of the block) will be designated from now on as the starting point.
When this pattern occurs, then the candidate in question can be eliminated from all fields that share a logical unit with both starting points (that is only one field).

In the two examples, the field for elimination is green. The yellow Kite and its red strings are probably obvious. In each field the candidate is 6.

If you were to enter the 6 into the green field, it would necessarily be eliminated from both starting points.
As a consequence, it would then have to be entered in both end points, which leads to a contradiction because the endpoints are in the same block.

Consequently, the 6 cannot be valid in the green field and can be eliminated as a candidate.
Logical and theoretically quite simple.
